About Us
The Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is based at Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), a 1,637-bed tertiary referral teaching hospital managed by the Hospital Authority (HA) and affiliated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
The CUHK Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is administratively distinct from, but functionally integrated with, the HA clinical departments. The CUHK department is primarily responsible for teaching and research, while the HA departments provide clinical services in anaesthesia, intensive care, and pain medicine, and oversee the management and staffing of the Operating Theatres (OT), Sterile Supply Unit (SSU), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Professor KM Ho is Chairman of the CUHK Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. Dr Albert Chan is the HA Chief of Service of the Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine at PWH. Dr Eunise Ho is the HA Chief of Service for Intensive Care Services across Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH), and North District Hospital (NDH) within the New Territories East Cluster.
