Biography
Dr. Stanley LAM
Professor, Consultant Anesthesiologist, Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital, Shatin, NT, Hong Kong.
Dr. Lam is a musculoskeletal, sports, and pain physician based in Hong Kong.
Dr. Lam holds the following credentials in the USA: RMSK, CIPS, FIPP, and POCUS (MSK Tissue).
Dr. Lam currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary) in the Department of Family Medicine at both the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Lam is a Consultant for the New York School of Regional Anesthesia (NYSORA) and the author of the MSK Ultrasound and Regenerative Injection Therapy (RIT) for the Knee app, which can be found at https://www.nysora.com/nysora-msk-app/. Dr. Lam is the Founding President of the MSK Ultrasound Asia-Pacific and the Founding President of the International Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Lam serves as the section editor for the “Musculoskeletal Pain, Rehabilitation, and Neuropathic Pain” section of the “Journal of Pain Research” and acts as an academic editor for several other international peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Lam is the Immediate Past-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine and an Honorary Consultant at the Center for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Wan Fang Hospital, Taipei Medical University, and Chung Shan Medical University Hospital in Taiwan. He also serves as an International Consultant for the Taiwan Association of Prolotherapy and Regenerative Medicine and has been a Teaching Faculty member and Examiner for the World Institute of Pain since 2018.
Dr. Lam has delivered numerous international lectures and hands-on workshops on various topics, including:
– Ultrasound-guided hydrodissection of nerves
– Dynamic musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning of joints and nerves
– Ultrasound-guided spine injection
– Ultrasound-guided regenerative injection therapy for managing sports injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, and chronic pain
Dr Lam’s research interests include:
1. Musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided hydrodissection for nerve impingement or entrapment to treat neuromuscular pain
2. Dynamic musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning for diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal issues
3. Ultrasound-guided regenerative medicine for pain associated with sports injuries, degeneration, and chronic neuropathic pain
4. Ultrasound-guided dry needling for various neuromusculoskeletal pain conditions
