Bacterial Resistance, Antibiotic Therapy, and Outcomes in Septic Shock: an international, multicenter, prospective cohort study (BRATOS-I)

Study Summary

The BRATOS-I study is an international, multicenter prospective study on the epidemiology of bacterial resistance and antibiotic therapy on outcomes of critically ill patients with septic shock from bacterial infections. The purpose of the study is to recruit 3020 ICU patients to improve our understanding on burden of bacterial resistance in critically ill patients with septic shock from all income regions. Understanding the current barriers and challenges associated with delay in adequate antibiotic therapy in all income regions is needed to improve basic sepsis care. So far over 100 ICUs have signed up!
