Measurement of intra-abdominal pressure
Instead of using manometer a needle can be inserted into the sampling port of the urinary drainage tubing and connected to a normal pressure transducer. Prior to measuring the pressure 50-100 ml of fluid should be infused into the bladder via the catheter. This volume must be deducted from the measured "urine" volume. |
