Rapid Assessment by Cardiac Echo (RACE) course

Content

  • The course will cover pericardial effusion and tamponade, left and right ventricular functions, preloads and pleural effusions. It you want to learn how to perform quick echo and to review the echo qualitatively, this maybe the course that suits you.
  • Course consists of pre-course material, handbook, lectures and small group hands-on sessions
  • RACE handbook
    • Included in course fee
    • Designed to supplement the RACE course and is intended to be used as a quick reference for 2D transthoracic echocardiography.  The latest (2008) edition covers the standard views, knobology, assessments of left and right heart functions, cardiac tamponade and more
  • The RACE Doppler Physics module: All RACE participants will be given a username and password to download a copy of the Doppler Echocardiography study notes.  All participants are encouraged to attempt a short quiz

Registration

Course fee HK$1000 (for those registering for Asian Intensive Care: coming of age). HK$1500 for those not attending the conference.
